|  This diagnostic uses a building’s current baseline as the frame of reference. 
Whatever mechanisms or behaviours are currently active, that’s the reference baseline of electricity use and is indicated by RED on the summary page. YELLOW is what lighting energy use would be, should a PowerSense solution be implemented. The difference is the electricity saving. From this, we can also calculate the potential environmental impact. How the green building audit data is collected: We install a set of proprietary sensor units across the building in different area types. These are self contained, battery operated mini-computers with memory which log whether lights are on and people are in the proximity. They each take under a minute to install (due to administrative recording) and a few seconds to remove. We then download the data and analyse it, yielding aggregate electricity use and projected electricity savings potential per area type (above) as granular metrics per measured area (below).
